VisiKid – the child-friendly display concept
IKS Photovoltaik presents the photovoltaic plant display for the young children
Kassel/Munich (Intersolar 2008, IKS) – Solar plants are appearing on the roofs of ever more nurseries and schools. They set an example and are also aimed at familiarising the next generation with regenerative energy sources at an early age. Yet to date, "standard" digital displays have typically been used to show plant yield, and these usually fail to awake children's interest.
The sector is booming – but where are tomorrow's experts?
"Renewable energy" must be addressed in schools and training institutions
Kassel (25 March 2008, IKS) – The solar sector is booming: turnover in the industry is set to double to ten billion euros by the year 2010; the number of jobs is predicted to rise by 13,000 to 54,000. These are the findings of the latest "Site appraisal: photovoltaics in Germany" which has just been published in Berlin. Yet where are tomorrow's experts and managers? In most federal states, renewable energy is still only a minor issue in the curricula of schools and training institutions and higher education courses are few and far between. An "unacceptable" state of affairs which the Kassel-based teaching aid producer IKS Photovoltaik is seeking to change. IKS experts have set out to interest the younger generation in the energy sources of the future, true to the motto "think about tomorrow today".
